Animation and Video Games Speed Talks

From LCI Barcelona, we are launching a new Speed Talks series aimed at curious and passionate minds in the world of design and visual arts!

After the success of the first two sessions on fashion and graphic design, the third will take place next Thursday, April 18 at 7:00 pm and will focus on the animation and video games sector.

During our Animation and Video Games Speed Talks, you will be able to enjoy the following mini-conferences:

3D DESIGN AND VFX

The first part of this talk, led by Xavi Segura (technical director of the company Wildbytes, generalist, and professor at LCI Barcelona), will focus on the development of 3D characters (sculpting, retopology, and rigging).

In the second part, the director, CG Artist, and professor Alejandro López will carry out the breakdown of a special effect. He will analyze a real reference, develop the effect in layers, and show the final effect.

CONCEPT ART

Through this talk, we will dive into the exciting world of conceptual art led by Silvia Vicente, alumni of our Master in Concept Art who currently works as a Senior Concept Artist at Scruffy Dog Creative Group.

CHARACTER DESIGN

Joan Guardiet (2D illustrator, art director, and professor at LCI) will talk about:

• The process of creating characters through the real case of an animation series.
• The integration of character creation with the rest of the processes.
• The basic principles of character creation.

These knowledge capsules delivered by experts in their respective fields will provide you with valuable insights adapted to the current reality of the industry.

And to finish, we will have networking at the Agora while enjoying a beer!
