Our School is already part of the Cumulus International Association of Universities and Colleges in Art, Design and Media, an organization that brings together relevant university centers of higher education and professional institutions related to the world of design, art or sciences applied to this field. The official announcement was made in the last plenary session of the association, which was attended as guests by representatives of the prestigious Colbert Committee.

To be admitted, LCI Barcelona had to present a report and pass the approval of the Governing Council of Cumulus. The School has had the support of two member centers such as LCI Melbourne (the other campus of the LCI Education network that was already part of it) and Elisava.

Membership of this organization opens the doors to our entire educational community for international research projects. Cumulus was born from the idea of new universities and design colleges to develop social innovation to solve problems and meet the challenges of the future. Its objective is to generate papers whose importance is measured not by their academic contribution or by the number of citations they receive, but by the economic, social and environmental impact they have.

Cumulus is a worldwide channel that gives schools a voice, disseminates projects and promotes the mobility of professors and students with the same concerns. All this to create international communities in order to carry out value initiatives that benefit society.

CUMULUS GREEN 2020

Within the organization, there is a working commission focused on sustainability from which the Cumulus Green 2020 for a New Circular Economy contest has been launched. This competition, inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and open to all member institutions, wants to recognize the power of design and creative solutions to do "more and better with less". Projects can be submitted from all disciplines of art, design and media that focus on sustainable production and consumption and embody the principles of circular economy. In addition to the corresponding awards, an exhibition will be organized during the Cumulus Conference in Rome in mid-July 2020. More information here. Deadline: 31st January 2020!
