Students Camila DC and Gerard Cot, among the 150 best emerging talents of European photography for "Fresh Eyes"
Fresh Eyes is a photobook launched by GUP Magazine that annually selects the 150 best emerging talents from all over Europe, among which are diverse profiles such as students, recent graduates and autodidactic professionals.
In its third edition, the Fresh Eyes jury of experts has highlighted the work of two students of our University Diploma in Digital Photography: Camila del Castillo (Camila DC) and Gerard Cot.
Camila is a Bolivian-Croatian visual artist and photographer based in Barcelona. She has recently concluded her studies at LCI Barcelona with a final project that gathers the essence of her father, recently deceased, and conceptualizes it through landscapes. The passage of time is the main subject of her work, which you can see here.
Gerard, for his part, is currently taking the diploma. The project he presents to Fresh Eyes reflects his interest in photographic composition, sustainability and the relationship between the human being and nature. More specifically, he shows how the physiognomy of Barcelona and its surroundings is changing due to human activity and social evolution. You can see more of Gerard in the following link.
All the projects of Fresh Eyes' third edition can be seen from October 14th to 17th in an exhibition at the Rotterdam Photobook Market.
