The auditorium of the Museu del Disseny in Barcelona (Barcelona's Design Museum) dressed up this Wednesday to host the 2018 Graduation Ceremony of our School. The event began with a brief speech by Pilar Vélez, Director of DHUB, who talked about the fundamental role of museums as centers of knowledge and congratulated the new professionals in the areas of Fashion, Graphic, Product and Interior Design.

Sílvia Viudas, General Director of LCI Barcelona, officially welcomed all the attendees and valued the efforts of all the students to achieve their dream. She took the opportunity to share the message of strategists such as Michael Porter and Tom Peters, who praise design as the profession of the future: "The new heroes will be the creatives, the designers, those who know how to create new things". In this sense, she remarked her pride in educating "people who will contribute to change and make a better world". She also highlighted one of the objectives of LCI Barcelona: to train all students with a realistic image and to help them on their way to the world of work. Next, Marcel·lí Zuazua, CEO of Herraiz Soto & Co, gave a talk in which he reflected on everything he has learned through the integration of his experience as a businessman, entrepreneur, professor and sportsman.

The second part of the event began with the awarding of titles and diplomas of Pattern Making Courses, followed by Higher Art Studies in Design. On behalf of her classmates, the student Sara Iglesias gave an emotional speech in which she paid tribute to all those people who form part of the day-to-day life of the School. Her words were the prelude to the collection of titles by the new designers.

Following the same scheme, Judit Melis, student of the Master in Fashion Marketing, Communication and Events Planning, spoke on behalf of all students of Master and Postgraduate programs, who received their titles later. The Graduation Ceremony ended with the announcement of the finalists for the Best Master's Final Project Award, which finally went to "Sneaker Store Revolution". The jury of the award, composed by the directors of each program and representatives of LCI Barcelona, chose the store project for Nike by Vianella Maestra, student of the Official Master's Degree in Experiential Interior Design.

The evening was ended on the roof top terrace of Barcelona's Design Museum (Museu del Disseny), by cheering up with our cava glasses and celebrating the success of the event.
