One more year, the students of the Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design had the opportunity to show their final projects in the framework of the 080 Barcelona Fashion, specifically within the OFF program of the Catalan catwalk. Disseny Hub Barcelona was the venue chosen to host last Friday "Memories of the Future", two fashion shows with the art direction of Isabel Martinez in which a total of 42 students participated. All of them presented the result of many months of work accompanied not only by family, friends, professors and staff members of the School, but also by representatives of companies and media who came to discover the talent of a new generation of designers from LCI Barcelona. The live music of the band Mourn enlivened both events.

Our fashion shows were attended by Claude Marchand (president and CEO of the LCI Education network) and Sílvia Viudas (general director of the School) who, together with Estel Vilaseca (head of the Fashion area), presented the awards to the best collections, chosen by a jury of professionals and experts in the sector:

First Prize: "L'Autre" by Sofia Massuti

Second Prize: "Six ninety-six" by Ainara Antxia

Thrid Prize: "SKHIZEIN" by Sara Palma

SUSTAINABLE PROJECTS

Fashion and environment must increasingly go hand in hand. Therefore, one of the great novelties this year has been B·SEArcular, the circular economy initiative that we have led together with Epson and Seaqual. Three of the collections that could be seen in the parades (made by the students Maria Molina, Maitena Vega and Maria Odriozola) have been crafted with a Seaqual certified fabric obtained from plastics recovered from the Mediterranean by the Fishermen's Guild of Barcelona. Thanks to Epson's SureColor printing technology, the students have been able to print any design on the cloth using the sublimation ink technique, with considerable savings in water and energy consumption compared to traditional methods. The resulting garments are totally ecological and, once their useful life is over, they can be recycled and turned back into hanks of polyester thread, thus closing the project circle.

EXPLOSION OF COLOR

DHUB's room A was dressed for the occasion recreating the official graphic of "Memories of the Future", a work by the agency Frescota which is inspired by the different layers of memory. The studio mistercarton installed on the ceiling's room 120 colored fabrics, cut and dyed one by one until covering an extension of 30 meters.

TEAMWORK

More than 330 looks paraded through Disseny Hub Barcelona in what was the first professional experience for our students. We had models from the agencies Mot Management, Maxim Models, World Talents Models and Towanda Models Agency, as well as those from the Open Call. Also collaborating with us were students from the make-up and hairdressing schools Thuya and Barcelona Hair Academy. Thanks to everyone for being part of "Memories of the Future".

The backstage was full of activity

Congratulations to the new designers of 2019 class and to the professors and tutors who have helped them to develop their potential!
