Our alumni Domingo Rodríguez (Dominnico) succeed in Madrid Fashion Week EGO catwalk

In spite of his youth, our alumni Domingo Rodríguez has already dressed stars like Lady Gaga, Rosalía, Rita Ora or the Hadid sisters, and since last Saturday he adds a new recognition to his meteoric career: the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Talent award granted among the participants of the Samsung EGO catwalk, the platform for young talents of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid.

The designer from Alicante, who graduated from LCI Barcelona three years ago, presented his proposal for the next spring-summer season at the catwalk in Madrid: "Harajuku Kids". Asked about it, Dominnico said: "The collections arise from the aesthetic and fashion trends that I see in social networks. I am influenced by the different artistic options, from Antoni Tudisco to Six N. Five, creators of artificial worlds that make three-dimensional spaces with different textures". Ruby Gloom, Andy Dixon, the Japanese neighborhood of Harajuku (an exponent of the Lolita culture) and the London Club Kids are other references from whom his work is based. "I'm looking to please a mature woman, but we're a very pop brand that bets on 'more is more'", he added. The result is a colorful collection in pastel shades that will come out internationally in the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tbilisi (Georgia). Domingo picked up the award visibly excited: "I want to give a thousand thanks to everyone, I'm very happy. Winning this prize means fulfilling a dream. It is a tipping point for my brand and the beginning of a new stage for the project. Now I just think about preparing the web and sell through it". This recognition represents a great step in his career and consolidates Dominnico as one of the most renowned emerging designers of our country. Congratulations!
