Three months after being presented at Cinemes Girona, the short film "El Duelo" by recent graduates Andrés Ponce de León, Marina Abad, Cristina Fabbri, Roger Artero, Marcela García, Marina Gutiérrez and Cristina Leiva (University Diploma in 2D and 3D Animation) has attracted the attention of several film contests inside and outside our borders.

The International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia (better known as Sitges Film Festival) has included it in the New Visions - SGAE New Authorship section as part of its 54th edition. Next Saturday, October 9th at 13:45h, the short film will be screened along with other works at Cinema Prado and, afterwards, the name of the winning project will be announced. For all those who cannot attend, there will also be the option to watch it online between October 7th and 17th. More information here.

For its part, the Ajayufest - International Animation Festival of Peru has also selected the short film and will screen it within the Thesis Animation category. The 6th edition of this contest will be virtual and will be held from September 29th to October 2nd. You can find the details in the following link.

"El Duelo" is a 2D animated short film starring an eight-year-old boy who takes refuge in his imagination to escape the death of his father. Although he tries to avoid it, the pain haunts him and, sooner or later, he will have to face the harsh reality.

Congratulations to our alumni and best of luck for both festivals!
