What does fashion mean to you?
The truth is that fashion, at this time, is my way of life; what occupies my time, my thoughts, agonies, joys and, above all, my future projections.
What you have brought these four years of training at FDModa - LCI Barcelona?
It has given me much learning. I believe that "Feli" is very good in terms of education and training. They prepared us very well for the real world with the same timings as professional designers to create a collection. That fact certainly has helped me to create my new collection.
I also want to highlight the help from my classmates, they have supported me a lot (more than I would have imagined) without asking anything in return and I am sincerely grateful.
What did it mean to you to win the Modafad Award for best designer?
SUPPORT. A lot of support and energy to keep in the circuit of the catwalk.
For me, MODAFAD has been certainly, the beginning of something, it is the starting point of a new stage in my life, the one thing I can say to MODAFAD is: THANKS.
What is the main inspiration of your new collection?
This new collection is about the body and soul binding. Is a union that, according to the philosophy and literature, it occurs when someone dies or falls in love.
Following this tragic-romantic line, everything is linked to one of the most representative stories on this record: Romeo and Juliet. Through all the thoughts and ideas of Romeo. Romeo things. MY ROMEOS.
Why did you decide to do menswear?
That's one of the things I've been 100% sure since I started the degree; I wanted to do man, I feel comfortable creating it.
The garment that any man should have is...
A pair of black trousers in all its variations.
Tell us five designers that you admire:
Dries van Noten, Prada, Rodarte, J. W. Anderson and Raf Simons.
What qualities do you think are necessary to succeed in the world of fashion?
Honestly, I have no idea. I believe that if you work, if you are a little crazy and you're lucky, you can get goals.
What is your ultimate career aspiration?
At this moment, to survive by myself with what I do. But I do not discard freelancing for other companies and continue with my project at the same time. Working doing what you love is a pleasure that I would not change for anything.
Thank you very much Pedro.
