After various days full of workshops in which our students have explored the relationship between design and nature, the festival Prospect Design closed its third edition this Wednesday with a big event that took place in the emblematic Esferic building.
The event began with the speech of Sílvia Viudas, LCI Barcelona General Director, who welcome all the assistants. Then, the Award for Academic Excellence was delivered to the fashion professor Gabriel Torres for his incredible career as a teacher and projects director. The honoree received the award from Eduard Prats, President of Honor of Felicidad Duce - Fashion School of LCI Barcelona, and shared some moving words with the audience.
During the event was also announced the Felicidad Duce Award 2017 to Sybilla for her contribution as an international icon of fashion industry. Felicidad Duce’s daughter and Honorary President of the Fashion School, Mercedes Freixas, gave the distinction to the journalist Charo Mora, president of the prize jury, who collected the trophy on behalf of the well-known designer.
The academic part of the event ended with the master class "Form and function in nature", in which the prestigious researcher, teacher and writer Jorge Wagensberg discovered the richness and ingenuity of the different figures offered by the natural world (hexagons, spirals, fractals...) and which, in turn, serve as inspiration when designing. In addition, the rapporteur wanted to highlight the architectural work of the visionary Antoni Gaudí.
Afterwards, the guests enjoyed a cocktail enlivened with music by Ràdio Flaixbac. The night ended with laughter, fun and dancing, a faithful reflection of an unforgettable evening. And now, the countdown for Prospect Design 2018 begins!
