LCI Barcelona’s cycle of conferences, curated by Inés Peláez and Toormix studio, closes its first edition on Wednesday, June 7th (19:00h) with Mermelada Estudio. The last conference will be held in the framework of the Barcelona Design Week organized by BCD - Barcelona Design Center.

The history of this industrial design studio began when its three founders, Laura Blasco, Juanmi Juárez and Alex Estévez, met in Barcelona after years of training in different design schools in Spain, England and Italy. Together, they set off a creative journey united by their common aim of finding the extraordinary in the ordinary.

The media have described their work as a mix of wit and poetry and praised them for their unconventional look at objects that fill up our everyday lives. They strive to find excellence and achieve balance in each one of the projects where they have participated. They collaborate with renowned international brands such as Moroso, Kettal, BD Barcelona Design, Kvadrat, Fermob and RS, among others. Their work has traveled the world in exhibitions, trade fairs and conferences. Recently, "Elle decoration Spain" has awarded the studio as best young Spanish designers of 2016, and "El País" has included them in the ranking "20 names of Spanish design you should know".

In 2012, the trio created Mermelada Editions, the outlet they use to design, manufacture and distribute their innermost creations. This way they share with the public limited and unique editions of their objects.

Following the scheme of DI55ECCIONS, the team of Mermelada will tell us five influences that have marked his career and five trends that, in his opinion, will define the future of the industry. After the session, we will have some Moritz. Sign up now and come to enjoy the design from a different perspective!
