On May 3rd we celebrate the 4th edition of our Fashion Symposium. The opening of the event will take place at 9:30h and will be attended by Sílvia Viudas (general director of LCI Barcelona), David García (MODACC) and Estel Vilaseca (head of our Fashion area).


At 10:00h will begin the panel "Communication and diversity: fashion, social listening and empathy", which will consist of:


  • Inclusion and diversity in H&M Group. Drivers of innovation and purpose (10:00h).
  • "As a global company, a very important part of our success is contributed by the diversity of our teams and our ability to understand and meet our diverse customers where they are, on their terms. Clear goals together with constant learning and listening is absolutely key to staying relevant and to reflect the multicultural world of our colleagues, customers and communities we serve".


  • Round table: Challenges to communicate from diversity (10:30h).
  • With Ona Bascuñán (H&M), Roberto Piqueras (social educator and former fashion designer) and Sol Bela (fashion photographer). Moderated by Isabel Carmona (Isatofu).



 About the speakers 


Ona Bascuñán

She currently works in the Inclusion & Diversity Department of the H&M Group. After a two-year period leading the communication and sustainability strategies for the H&M brand in South America, she joined the global R&D team to develop the group's communication strategy. Previously, Ona was in charge of H&M's Communication Department in Spain and Portugal for more than 10 years. She holds a degree in Journalism and a postgraduate degree in Art Communication.



Roberto Piqueras

Born in Sabadell (Barcelona) in 1985, he graduated in 2006 from LCI Barcelona as a fashion designer, but after spending a decade distributing his brand internationally between Asia and the United States, he graduated as a social educator at UAB in 2021 and completed a master's degree in 2022 at the same university on research in education. He currently works as a social educator at Actuavallès within different projects on sexual education, LGBTIAQ+ and HIV, as well as continuing his research on the construction of safe spaces in the educational field.


Sol Bela

Photographer and director born in 1996 on the island of Bioko and currently based in Barcelona. She has a wide portfolio of clients that includes companies such as Google, Facebook, Adobe, Pinterest, Getty Images, Adidas, Beats By Dre and Polaroid, among many others. She has also collaborated and been featured in amazing publications such as The New York TimesI-D MagazineViceMetal MagazinePaper Magazine, etc. Her work was born out of a lack of cultural references while growing up in the African diaspora, and her goal is to create a space for underrepresented voices in the media in their creative journey.


Isabel Carmona (Isatofu)

Communicator and content creator specialized in fashion and cultural trends. She has a degree in Business Administration and Fashion Communication from Universidad Villanueva and has worked for almost two years as a writer for the fashion industry's economic media Modaes.
