Last week, we celebrated our traditional Welcome Day to welcome new students from the official design degrees. The General Director, Sílvia Viudas, highlighted in her presentation the good dynamics of the School: "We have more students, more professors and more courses each year. Now, the number of students enrolled is 446 and we have a total of 129 professors".

Among the most outstanding additions to the teaching staff are Joris Debo (Materialise consultant and collaborator of Iris Van Herpen, pioneer and reference in 3D printed fashion), José Manuel Fernández (in charge of Architecture and Interior Design at La Granja Design), Miguel Guerrero (designer and member of Fab Lab Barcelona - Institute of Advanced Architecture of Catalonia), Sara Santos, Núria Sierra and Pilar Sola (founders of the creative studio Workship) and Jordi Canudas (designer with his own studio and collaborator of Marset).

For her part, the School's Director of Pedagogy, Beatriu Malaret, talked about the strategic axes of the new academic year: the interdisciplinary vision of design as a tool for contextualizing and solving problems, the Learning by Doing methodology for transmitting a learning experience centered on the student, and the project's culture as a method for integrating the objectives.

During the event, some of the activities planned for this year were anticipated, such as Prospect Design, the leading design festival; DI55ECCIONS conference cycle; LCI Barcelona Christmas Market; the graduation ceremony at DHUB; the final fashion shows of the project students; etc.

At LCI Barcelona, the European campus of LCI Education network, we are committed to an education which is closely linked to business and which has an international projection. This is endorsed by the results of the latest EAS Fashion Labor Market Insertion Survey: 80.8% of our graduates work and 87.5% of them do so in their sector.

We continue to grow with a view to the inauguration of our new campus, planned for the beginning of the 2021/2022 academic year. The building, which will have 11,000 square meters, will be located at 22@ and will host 2,000 international students.
