This Wednesday, February 15th we started our 10th anniversary celebrations with a grand gala dinner at the emblematic venue The Imperial, located in the center of Barcelona. The event brought together numerous guests from the design, politics, fashion and the media industry.
The Imperial held the gala dinner for LCI Barcelona's 10th anniversary
The evening began with the presentation of the Felicidad Duce 2022 Award to Pablo Coppola, a former student of the School and current leather goods collection director at Balenciaga. Sílvia Ventosa, curator of Museu del Disseny de Barcelona and president of the award jury, highlighted the award winner's career in historical luxury firms such as Celine, Tom Ford and Balli.

The choice of the venue was in recognition of the 95 years of our Fashion School and the fashion shows that the founder, Felicidad Duce, used to organize in the Salón Imperial of the former Hotel Ritz, a place reserved until then for the big couture brands. In that same space we recreated one of those fashion shows with 10 looks created by the designers trained in our classrooms who have obtained greater recognition from the sector: Josep Font, Juan Vidal, María Escoté, Dominnico, Celia Vela, Manuel Bolaño, Martinez Lierah, Karlota Laspalas, Krizia Robustella and CarlotaOms.

Among the authorities who did not want to miss the event were Wendy Drukier (Canadian Ambassador to Spain), Joan Borràs (Government Delegate in Barcelona) and C. J. Scott (Canadian Consul in Barcelona), who shared the evening with Claude Marchand (President of LCI Education), Sílvia Viudas (General Director of LCI Barcelona), Mercedes Freixas and Eduard Prats (Honorary Presidents of our School). We were accompanied by the heads of brands, companies and institutions such as como Puig, Munich, Castañer, Sita Murt, MODACC, CCAM, DHUB, Santa Eulalia, Gratacós, Santa & Cole, Escorpion, La Roca Village, MODA-FAD and MINIM, and representatives of media such as Telva, El País, La Vanguardia, El Periódico, Metal Magazine and Barcelona Fashion Press.
Our director Sílvia Viudas was the first to speak after the dinner, taking the opportunity to highlight the evolution of LCI Barcelona and to announce that our new campus will be sustainable: "After 10 years, we will take a big step forward, we will launch a new educational space designed by Circular Studio and with BREEAM certificate for sustainable construction. The new campus will define LCI's values: respect, quality, creativity and willingness to share". She also stressed that "LCI in Barcelona is the result of the vision of the prestigious Canadian education group and the efforts of an entire team. In 2013, LCI Education was looking to continue its international expansion and enter the European market, and Barcelona was the chosen city".

Joan Borràs, the Government Delegate, then addressed us, congratulating us on our "commitment to Barcelona and to Catalonia". "Thank you for your involvement and commitment, which make our country a better society full of opportunities", he added. With a view to our move to the 22@ district, Borràs affirmed that "the Catalan capital must once again become the world reference point for the world of design, fashion and the visual arts".

The event ended with the words of the president of the LCI network Claude Marchand who, in an emotional speech, thanked the people who initiated this project in Barcelona for their support, starting from the objective of bringing the Canadian vision to Barcelona. "Let us join forces and enthusiasm to make LCI Barcelona one of the leading design schools in Europe", he concluded.
