Yesterday afternoon, Disseny Hub Barcelona hosted the roundtable "The Creative Process in Fashion Design" organized by the School within the Summer School on Management of Creativity of HEC Montréal and the University of Barcelona. This intensive two-week program, halfway between the Canadian city and the Catalan capital, has provided students with a dynamic, interactive and multidisciplinary approach to creativity as one of the key points for the business community.

The activity was moderated by professor Francesca Tur and was attended by the also professor Claude Gimeno, Daniel Barros from Kenzo and Lina Wassong from ElektroCouture. Beatriu Malaret, Pedagogy and Quality Director of LCI Barcelona, was also present. After a personal introduction, the speakers explained their conception of creativity and reflected on the different aspects that, in their opinion, define the creative process. Claude spoke from his perspective as an educator, he gave details of the day to day in our School and remarked that "there is creativity in the adaptation to the problems". For his part, Daniel relied on the baggage he accumulated to highlight the importance of self-confidence and collaboration with others. He also said: "My work is part of what I am, it’s always with me". By the way, Lina added her experience in ElektroCouture, where they promote multidisciplinary teams in favor of creativity. Regarding the work carried out in her company, he emphasized that "connecting the fashion sector with technology is motivating and stimulating".

In any industry related to design, the strategic management of creativity is an essential factor for success. This and many other interesting conclusions about the present and future of the sector arose during a roundtable that also served to show once again the LCI Barcelona’s degree of involvement with the management of creative capacity in companies.
